In this large house lived the mezzajolo and his family. The mezzajolo was an important figure during the reclamation of the Valdichiana, which occurred in the 18th century.
The coat of arms of St. John the Baptist, which can still be seen in the middle of the facade, shows that the Isola settlement once belonged to the Granduca's farm system.
